| Q:
I want to use an external GPS data source for the TECI, bypassing the
internal receiver. How should I set it up? A: To allow usage of an external GPS data source do the following: - remove the GPS loop-back plug from the GPS connection of your TECI-system - configure the external GPS receiver to output the data at the baudrate that you want to use*, for example: enable the $GPRMC & $GPGGA strings at 9600,N,8,1 - connect the RS232 serial output of your external receiver to the GPS connection of your TECI-system (pin 2 = signal, pin 5 is GND) - select a GPS receiver configuration from the snapSHOT GPS menu fitting with the settings of your receiver, for example: "NMEA receivers 9600,N,8,1 $GPRMC & $GPGGA nmea_rmc_gga_96" - now the TECI, snapSHOT and your external receiver should be able to work together. * please refer to the manual of your external receiver to set it up as required. |
